Workshops

MBOJ Studio hosts small, intimate in-person calligraphy classes in the greater Los Angeles area. Working together with unique and creative venues, MBOJ Workshops breaks down the art of calligraphy into an easy to learn and enjoyable practice. 

The Classes

MBOJ Beginner Workshops focus on the basics of pointed pen calligraphy. We introduce you to the tools of the trade, the foundational strokes of this art, and the construction of shapes into the alphabet. 

MBOJ Intermediate Workshops expand on the beginner syllabus. We dive deeper into the world of calligraphy by exploring different ink mediums and materials, flourishing and evolve personal calligraphy style. We also touch on format and layout for envelope addressing.

Each MBOJ Workshop is a 3 hour experience. All the tools you need are provided with tuition. Come join us, we’d love to have you. Check out our current class offerings here.
